Tristan and Catherine
Dear Birth Mother,
We are sure that this must be the hardest decision you have ever made and for that we admire your courage and commitment in your journey. We are sure that the only thing you want is the very best for your baby and we know that we are able to provide only the best for this child. We deeply respect the courage and love it takes for you to make the decision to do what you think is best for your child. In our home, your child will be secure, happy and loved unconditionally. We want you to know that we will do everything in our power to give your child a wonderful, meaningful and stable life. We thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little through this letter.
Our names are Tristan (TJ) and Catherine (Cat), and we live in Surrey in a beautiful townhouse, which is in a great neighborhood. Our community is full of families with children of all ages. We have great schools and wonderful neighbors. We are blessed to have a 3 bedroom home with a small backyard which we hope will have children playing in it some day soon. We have one dog name Siopao. He loves children and can’t wait to have another playmate to get in trouble with.
How we come about going through adoption? Cat and I have been trying to conceive naturally for quite a while now; unfortunately health has been the one hindering us to have a child of our own. As practicing Catholics, we’ve been praying and I believe God has plans for us to help a child that is in need of parents. As a couple we decided to look into adoption. As we researched for resources about adoption, we found family services of BC. This agency has been supporting both of us from the start. The resources they have provided helped us widen our knowledge about adoption and importantly helped both of us want to really adopt a child, which we truly believe that child is a gift from God.
We recently bought our beautiful townhouse after a year of our wedding day. We made sure we bought a home that is fit to start a family. Right after buying our home, with our excitement we renovated our kitchen, backyard and most importantly the nursery room. TJ consider himself a handy man and he love renovating our home. Whatever we decide what to renovate he loves to do it because having something done in our home makes it more the home we really want.
Cat and I we love to go on dates, go out for movies and eat out. One thing we really both love to do is traveling whenever we get a chance as often as we can. While life gets busy and sometimes it is hard, we make a conscious effort to do things together as much as we can. We feel that family is the most important thing; so spending time with our families and each other is priority over everything else. TJ’s parents and our friends have full support of our decision for adoption and are even excited for the both of us having a child in our family.
Cat and I are members of this organization Couples for Christ(CFC), which is affiliated with the Catholic Church. As practicing Catholics, listening to the homily on Sunday masses wasn’t enough for us; having this longing to know more about our faith in a deeper level we decided to check out CFC. Both of us became members for CFC after we got married and been active with church events and other services. All the years we’ve been a member of CFC we got to know more about our faith and continuously serving the Lord through different services such as; feeding the poor, build homes to the poor, ushering church, Gift of
Life rallies, do teaching ourselves, held bible studies and etc. The people we are serving with have our support and continuously pray for us to receive a child for us to love.
Cat is 40 years old and was born in Pampanga, Philippines. She moved to Canada since 2001. Cat’s parents are separated, her mom lives in Alberta and her dad lives with us currently on tourist visa. She passionately love working at her work at Tim Horton as a general manager for more than ten years. She helped tons of kids mostly students have work experience in her store. Having young kids working at her store makes it fun and the same time helping them. The owner of the store knows Cat really well and truly supports Cat and I with our decision to adopt. Cat who I’ve known for almost ten years now, always loved kids and been wanting to have a child of our own. Before I met my wife, she mentioned that because of her love for kids, her friends made her godmother of their children. My wife’s friend’s sees her with there kids and know she love to take care of them. She is a godmother of more than 50 kids and counting. In our circle of friends, most of them have one or two kids of their own that Cat help deliver in the deliver room. Kids always surround us in every gathering we attend, whether in our church activities, birthdays and etc. Cat always offers to babysit our friend’s kids when our friends go on dates. The sight of children gives my wife and I happiness. Spending time with our family and friend’s kids also helped us learn how to take care of them. Cat is a spiritual person and will teach her children the importance of prayer and Christian faith. Cat is ready to be a mother for her own child. She has spent her whole life preparing to be a mother, and whether we give birth to a child of our own, or adopt a baby, I could not pick a better mother than Cat.
TJ is 32 years old and was born in Ormoc City, Philippines. He moved with his family to Canada, BC at a young age and has been here ever since. He graduated high school and pursued his college certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Currently is working full time at Vancouver General Hospital. TJ is a good brother and at a young age he became an uncle as young as 11. He helped his parents and sister take care of his little brother and nephews. Growing up in a family oriented home, TJ develop patience, understanding, and love for kids. TJ is sensitive, caring, smart, creative, gentle yet strong. TJ is close to his family and great friends with his mom and dad. TJ is a wonderful provider and I have no doubt that he will be an amazing father. He does have strong male role models in his life that is his dad. He will love his children with all his heart, and all his might. He will be so excited and proud to teach his children all his hobbies; swimming, scuba diving, photography, fishing, gardening, fish aquarist, and teach them how to build and fix things. He will teach them humility and strength. TJ is a practicing Catholic and will teach his children the Christian values and teachings from the Roman Catholic Church.
