Adopt a Step-child
To adopt a step-child, you'll need to file an application with the BC Supreme Court. Most step-parent adoptions can be processed by a lawyer without an adoption agency or government involvement. However, if the child is aged 7-11, the child's view of the adoption must be considered by the Court. Our registered adoption social workers can prepare the required Younger Child's Views report.
We can also refer you to experienced adoption lawyers to assist you with the legal process.
